The Board of Trustees of Heyford Park Free School has three core functions:
- To ensure the clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school.
- To hold the principal to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
- To oversee the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

Meet the Board of Trustees
Joint Chair of Trustees
Simon, a Cambridge Graduate, works for Dorchester Group as Estates Financial Controller, leading on estate management. As a Chartered Accountant, Simon assists the school in financial training and reviewing its processes and controls. He chairs the committee on the future strategy of The Heyfordian School Trust. He took over as Joint Chair of Trustees in September 2019.

Steve has extensive experience of supporting schools having previously been Chair of two special schools. He worked for Paragon Automotive as Managing Director of its operation at Upper Heyford until his retirement. He currently also Chairs our Finance Committee.
Chief Executive of Integration Technology, an international technology business based at Heyford Park.
Integration Technology has previously won a Queen’s Award for Industry in addition to twice being named business of the year, and Adrian himself has also been awarded Business person of the Year for Bicester and the Cherwell Valley. He believes strongly in improving the skill bases of Oxfordshire’s young people, and is currently Chair of the Oxfordshire Skills Board and Deputy Chair of the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) to further monitor and support progress in this area.
Steve is the owner and Managing Director of a local employment business. Steve has been a parent at the school since the school first opened in 2014. He is a parent of a child within the Primary phase of the school and has also had a child attend the secondary phase.
Steve was also a founding member of the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and is currently the PTA Treasurer.
Emily is the Deputy Head (Academic) at Wycombe Abbey School. She has been a secondary school teacher for 18 years and has worked at high achieving schools in Berkshire, Gloucestershire and Buckinghamshire. Having done a Theology degree at Oxford University, she teaches Religious Studies and Latin; she is passionate about nurturing every pupil’s talents and setting high expectations. Emily is interested in promoting excellence in both teaching and learning so that all pupils can fulfil their potential.
Jan is a former publisher, and founder-director of Multimedia Corporation. Jan lives in Oxford and her daughters attended Steeple Aston school, where she was a Governor for nearly 20 years. She has a special interest in early years, but is also very interested in the development and challenges of secondary education. She was formally a director of OXPIP – the Oxford Parent Infant Project – which helps parents and babies to develop secure attachments in the first critical 1000 days from conception to two.
Paul was the previous chair of the school Governors since inception and facilitated the founding of the school with the local community. He is a Chartered Accountant, who has worked as an investment banker in London focussing on mergers and acquisitions in the construction and building sector before establishing a major regeneration business which owns Heyford Park. He is interested in community engagement and making sure every child living in the catchment for the school gets the best life chances education can bring. “By bringing together local residents, businesses and community leaders to the Heyford Park Free School, we have created a unique, nurturing environment to achieve those goals.”
Elaine has been involved in the organisation of community events for the last ten years. She is currently a fully qualified Scout leader with enhanced CRB and is qualified to teach young people orienteering and survival skills. She founded the Heyford Park Beavers, Cubs and Scouts Groups in 2000, and is also a GNAS Archery Instructor.
