Information and Guidance
Heyford Park Sixth Form has extensive partnerships with both Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OXLEP) and the local businesses based at Cherwell Innovation Centre in Heyford Park.
We develop partnerships with local Universities including Northampton, Oxford Brookes and Coventry. Heyford Park Free School has partnerships in place with other local providers and schools, as we train future teachers.
Our partnerships mean that we can support students as individuals through their choices by providing expert advice and experiences on which to base decisions.
Our UCAS process begins in term 6 of year 12. Our Heyfordian Employability and Leadership programme evolves into the ‘Next Steps’ programme during our Friday sessions, whereby students attend lectures on student finance, along with workshops on personal statement writing.
Every student who moves from year 12 into year 13 has access to personalised guidance provided by the director of sixth form regarding UCAS (universities and colleges admissions service) or apprenticeship/employment opportunities.
We also invite in one of our partner companies, G Force logistics to run CV writing workshops to ensure that every Heyford Park sixth form student has both advice and practical help to navigate a complex and ever-changing employment landscape.
