  • Heyford Park Free School has a vacancy for a Janitor. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with some buildings and/or DIY experience to join our site team. Full Training and support is available. We are seeking to employ a flexible, dynamic and enthusiastic Janitor.  The applicant needs to be active, willing to be part of a small but friendly team, flexible in their approach and diligent with performing H&S checks. Our ideal candidate will have a mature approach, cheerful disposition and be prepared to undertake a variety of tasks which are detailed in the job description. Experience of this type of work would be of benefit
  • PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
    Working alongside, or under the direction of, the Site Manager or School Caretaker, undertake maintenance and security tasks on school sites and premises.
     
    AREAS OF RESPONSIBLITY AND KEY DUTIES:
    The role includes responsibilities in the following areas:
    1. Security of school sites
    2. Health and safety checks
    3. Premises maintenance
    4. Ad-hoc cleaning duties
    5. Making premises available for external lettings
  • The successful candidate will have:
    • Flexibility in working hours, including early morning, evening and weekend work as required
    • Some property maintenance skills or the willingness to learn
    • Ability to deal with pupils (age 4 -18), parents, staff, governors and a wide range of school visitors
    • Commitment, enthusiasm and positive ‘can do’ attitude

  • Salary: Pay Grade 2 – Basic starting salary £7.83/hr (£8.78 including holiday pay)
     
    Hours of Work20 to 25 hours per week (term-time only)
     
    Working across 2 School Sites – Officers Mess and Specialisms Campus
    Hours flexible with split shift across early mornings, the school day and evenings; with some potential weekend working on an overtime basis.
