  • We are looking for a part-time receptionist to join our busy office at the heart of our school.
    Do you enjoy the challenges involved in working with children, parents and staff in a busy school environment?  Do you want to work as part of a team that knows each one of its children and their families well and where we can watch children progress from Nursery to sixth form?  Do you relish the chance to provide an environment that is welcoming to all?

  • Role of the School Receptionist: 
    • To assist in the daily administrative functions and promote high standards of customer care within the school.
    • To actively model and promote the values and ethos of the School.
    • Ensure that output and quality of work is of a high standard and complies with current legislation be able to use their initiative.
    • To act as receptionist/ administrative assistant to the school.
    • To carry out general administrative duties including word and excel processing to monitor students attendance and behaviour.
    • To seek ways of improving quality in all aspects of the role.
    Duties associated with Core Tasks:
    • To act as first point of contact for visitors to the school and those making contact by telephone.
    • To receive, sign for, sort and distribute post coming into the school and to record all outgoing post.
    • To ensure all telephone messages are recorded, including pupils’ absences and to pass messages to the appropriate person.
    • To attend to minor pupil illnesses and injuries/first aid (First Aid qualification desirable).                
    • To ensure that all visitors are signed in and issued with a relevant Visitor’s Pass.
    • To check that pupils signing out have permission to do so.
    • To attend to enquiries from pupils and staff.
    • To carry out administrative duties as allocated by line manager
    • To access pupil records and respond to queries.
    Administrative duties and responsibilities:
    • To be agreed with line manager, will include one or more of the following responsibilities:
    • Behaviour monitoring: (detentions, exclusions – internal & external)
    • Attendance monitoring (weekly reporting and follow up)
    • Handling holiday requests
    • To report to line manager any problems with processes you are responsible for and to suggest improvements.
    Performance management:
    Participating in the school’s arrangements for performance management, professional development and the school’s arrangements for quality assurance and internal verification.
    General responsibilities:
    • Act as a model for the school’s values
    • To undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post as the Principal or delegated line manager may from time to time reasonably determine.
    • To cover for other office staff in their absence when required.

  • Salary: Grade 4 Point 11-13, £15,807 - £16,491 per annum (pro rata accordingly)
    22 hours, 39 weeks per year 
    Monday to Thursday 10:30 – 16:00, Friday 10:30-12:30
    Start date: Tuesday 23rd April
    Maternity cover until April 2020 – fixed term position
